The Perfect Summer Wedding Guide

2024 Summer Wedding Guide

Summer Wedding season is upon us! Whether you’re the bride or groom, family of the happy couple, or a wedding guest tagging along, we got you covered. Tilling House has prepared a guide for summer weddings from wedding guest attire to venue highlights.

Summer Wedding Venue

A proper venue in the proper location can elevate your summer wedding. Tilling House in Eatontown, NJ has a gorgeous outdoor scenery that will leave you in awe. The Monmouth County venue is around 15 mile from the beach, and a perfect way to take advantage of that beautiful New Jersey summer weather.

Indoor/outdoor locations are a hot commodity for the summertime, and Tilling House is able to accommodate that. You will have that perfect distance to the beach where you can choose to take pictures there, and at the venue, without having to worry about your guests trudging through the sand for a beach wedding.

Tilling House has spaces that accommodate both small parties or large, ballroom sized parties. While your wedding party and close family/friends are waiting for the occasion to start, there are special hideaways for all. The bridal suite includes a hair/makeup salon where the bridal party can get ready in private, while the Game Room has special accommodations like a barber shop and games for the groomsmen. To add to the special occasion, Tilling House has its own private chef, Ryan DePersio, who is the mastermind behind Tilling House’s personal restaurant, Ember & Eagle.

Wedding Guest Attire

Choosing the proper wedding guest attire for a summer wedding can be tricky. While you don’t want to be showing too much skin, you also want to ensure that you are cool enough for those summer days.

Depending on your wedding dress code, the options can differ. Black tie/formal refers to guests wearing long gowns and tuxedos. On the other hand, if your dress code is looking more in the semi-casual or causal realm, you have more flexibility with your outfit of choice.

Men:

For men, the classic tuxedo look might get a little too hot in the summer. If that’s your year-long go to, then it can be the perfect fit for you. However, if you tend to get a little warmer, then we suggest looking for lightweight linens.

Women:

Wedding guest dresses can be tricky. There are certain no-no’s, such as not wearing white or upstaging the bride. However, you still need to be up to par for attending an extravagant wedding. Try considering flowy dresses that incorporate summer colors such as pastels or floral prints.
